Otávio Bartalotti earned his doctorate from Michigan State University in 2012, after receiving an economics B.S. from the University of São Paulo and M.S. from Fundação Getúlio Vargas, both in his home country of Brazil. His main research and areas of expertise are econometrics and quantitative methods. His current research focus on methods for inference in regression discontinuity designs and quantile regression under stratification and missing data. Prof. Bartalotti is also interested in topics in labor economics and public policy, especially race and gender discrimination, inequality, and education in the U.S. and Latin America.
